NEEDLE FACTORY IN KULDIGA

The urban architectural ensemble of Kalpaka Street has been a socially significant place in the life of the city of Kuldīga and the entire Kurzeme region since the mid-19th century. In 2015, when the building returned to the city, the Kuldīga municipality announced a design competition to select the most suitable architectural solution for the renovation of the building and territory. The building is intended to house the master's program 'Service Design Strategies and Innovations' studios, workshops and co-working spaces. During the project, the facade of the building was restored, a glazed veranda was added on the courtyard side, and the adjacent territory was landscaped.
