AUSTRALIAN HOUSE

As a result of the reconstruction of an approximately 100-year-old wooden building, two two-story apartments were created from the workers' residential building. The building is divided into two parts horizontally, the lower apartment occupies the basement and first floor, the upper apartment occupies the second floor and the attic. The entrances to the apartments are organized from opposite sides of the building. The attic floor was obtained by raising the roof truss by 1.2 m, the basement floor was expanded by deepening and building it out; a veranda and balcony were added to the building; garages were dug into the hill. After being put into operation, the Australian House became the Portuguese Embassy, which operates on the two lower floors of the building. The ambassador's residence was arranged on the two upper floors.
